candled all 6 eggs, and there is something moving around in all of them. OK, being more patient and waiting for the stinkers to pop out. They are, no doubt, waiting for my kids to go back to school on Monday before making their appearance.

Ok, my hatch is complete I think! I ended up with 13 chicks out of the 15 I put in lockdown. An excellent hatch, IMO. 13/24 isn't too great overall, but these were shipped eggs that I threw in the bator without rest time so I am happy I got anything at all.

After my last two hatched, I decided to take out the one that had pipped early yesterday and was no longer moving.. I heard a very faint peeping and busted out the little shrinkwrapper. S/he is very tired but appears to be fully developed, no outside yolk, etc. She's just sleeping now but it looks good so far.

It was kind of a small egg, so I am wondering if there wasn't any room to move around? The shrink wrap was very minor, only right near the pip.

I candled the last two and saw no veining or movement - one has a MASSIVE air cell and the other has a very small one. no peeping or pips. I think they are both dead. I may eggtopsy, but maybe I'll pass this time.

You could try copying and pasting into a notepad document on your computer, title it with the date and person you were talking to. I've had to do that with e-mails on occasion. just a thought.

You sweet thing... you underestimate the extent of my hoarding. I have 18 pages of emails dating back a couple of years, many complex conversations about genetics and pedigrees...so I'll have to spend hours doing it. I'm really far nuttier than you think!

You're better off than I am. Candled them and nothing is moving that I can see. MAYBE one but not sure if it was me turning it or not.

This is so depressing....

I hoped we'd get at least 2, but I guess I never thought we'd get none. Kinda feel stupid for sticking my nose to the incubator so much to peer at nothing. Sigh.

Sorry, I'll just sit over here and be maudlin alone. We've been through 2 rounds of antibiotics for each child, one round for me, and countlessly difficult days the last month, and we were all so counting on chicks as a highlight. Ah, well. Not the first time things didn't go my way.

Thanks for the encouragement.
