for those still hatching out or waiting for the hatching to get going!

We are done with the hatch and ended up with 12 Andalusian chicks, we are very happy with getting those as the parent birds are some we hatched out spring of 2010 and weren't sure if the eggs would be fertile.

Thought we'd share a picture of them in the brooder-just moved them this afternoon:

So glad to hear that they are just waiting! It won't be dark here for a couple more hours so I am going to wait to candle. You have given me hope though! My only problem is that I never saw any movement before lockdown so I don't know if I will see some or not. Hoping it is just because I don't really know how to candle and my eggs are dark.

my eggs are dark, too, and I was having alot of trouble. I took a small lamp, a coffee can, cardboard "doughnuts", and tape, and made one that worked much better than my flashlight. I think the chickies move away from the heat when I put them up to it, which may be why I see movement. That's just a guess.

Just marking my spot.. I need to go out and check on all the chooks and give them their before bed snack.
Sending hatching vibes to everyone, icluding myself...

here today. Poor chickens haven't stuck their heads out the pop door all day. I will probably have to change their water out again even though I did it this morning with warm water.

ABOUT THE EYEBALL, (didn't want to go back and find that post) you're not crazy, and if that wasn't photoshopped in, then it was a reflection of a human eye., Chicken eyeball my foot......grumble grumble good grief ... grumble grumble....

All rightie, I'm done updating the Crowing Rooster entries. Whew!

Time to head home again. I'm buzzing around here in Starbucks like no tomorrow, because I asked for the "bold" and have had two refills..... plus I prefer to use my own facility to divest myself of the processed coffee.

Raining hard here, by the way. No yard work gonna get done at all!

iPad is all charged up. Rooster entries between now and midnight will have to be "mined" tomorrow, back here at the local Starbucks, using my laptop. And then the judging will commence!!

Keep posting your progress.

I agree.. I do not mean to miss over anyone's posts. Most times, by the time I read along and see something I want to respond to, I respond then forget where I was at because it automatically takes me to the last page... And this thread has been a hot mess of posts. I am sort of surprised that anyone can keep up.

I went and searched.... Congrats on your pips!! Come on babies.......

When I find something I want to respond to, I right click on 'quote' then click 'open in new tab' then I can post and not lose my place on the thread reading.
I am still missing posts and I am not posting much right now
