Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

SUSSEX! that is what I want! I (finally) have 3 light and one silver) but wanting MORE.

My speckled sussex is by far my favorite chicken. That probably has to do with her being injured and being a "lone" chick for 2 weeks. We spent a lot of time together. She follows me around now, just like a dog. She begs for treats (she's quite rotund... sigh), follows me to the mailbox and back, and sneaks into the garage and waits at the top of the garage stairs for me to come out of the house.

She's pretty too (except that snaggle toe thing, I AM SUCH A BAD MOMMY!)

It's a daily activity for me.. But considering my last post, I should be cruising bator auctions. I have 3 dozen more eggs from my own pens waiting to go in.. This little squatter I have, doesn't want to give up the real estate..

I feel your pain. I have 8 local eggs sitting on my counter just waiting for the shipped eggs to get here today or tomorrow (TODAY...TODAY...TODAY!!) and rest a day so they can jump in the warmed and prepped incubator. I keep telling myself everyone says it's to risky to stagger a hatch by even a few days....I keep telling myself.....I keep....I......

Do you know I have 8 local eggs sitting on my counter just waiting...

ETA - for some reason I just picture her house with boxes of shipped eggs waiting to go into the bator and her bators melting from never getting to cool down between hatches!

I will have you know < hands on hips, toe tapping > I have four incubators with nothing in them right this very moment!
(But I do have some eggs to set tonight, and some already on order from a while ago...)

Goochgirl I would expect her to sleep for quite a while. That is what mine did after I helped it out. Just don't want you to worry too much. They are pretty tuckered after fighting with that membrane.
CONGRATULATIONS!
