Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

*ears perk up* Iowa Blues? I've been searching and searching for Iowa Blues. Only found 2 sources, Ideal (which I'm not thrilled about) and Sandhill Preservation. Have an order placed with them for chicks this spring, 12 or so Iowa Blues and a selection of others for my mixed bag layer group. Can't wait. Love Iowa Blues!

Got pics? If you get eggs to sell, I'd be interested!

Ok here is my submission for the cutest chick picture.

I just candled the last two and they were gone. First one was an early quitter and the second one was fully developed but dead in the egg. It never internally pipped. I have to say that this was a fun time. I am so happy with the six that I got. The funniest thing was that I was cleaning up the bator to put it away for now and DH says "Hey its all clean, why not start over again?" I told you he was a closet hatcher!

I have more pics to post but I am pooping out for the night. Sumatra, do you mind if I get to you tomorrow evening with the picture and comments? I don't like making people wait but I am really tired. I would be more than happy to send them tomorrow.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

This morning the black copper marans chick is out and 2 Ameraucana are zipped (both look black right now, but hard to tell when wet).

Come on Silkie and Silkied Cochin! Please!

Came home to 5 babies in the incubator, the black copper marans chick, 3 Ameraucana (1 black, 2 blue I think), and my SILKIE CHICK, WOOT! Add those to the other black Ameraucana and my two blue/cuckoo/silver whatever mixed bag genetic Marans, nice mix! Still waiting and praying for the silkied cochin egg and other Ameraucana egg left.

Sure thing. I'll be on tomorrow.

Crazy me. I just won two auctions here on BYC for hatching eggs. One for 24 button eggs and one for 12 serama eggs. Plus Extras. Guess i'm in for the Chinese New Year Hatch.

Good night everyone; I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed for the Die Hard chicks still in shells and for those barely hanging on hatchlings.

I've got my pellet stove turned up to the setting I like to call "thermonuclear war" and the fleece sheets on the bed. What a perfect night for great sleeping!

That's nothing. My 'bator holds about 100 quail eggs and 68 chicken eggs. I'm nowhere near topped out.

Please don't tell Sumatra she has room for more eggs.
