Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

It's 2:37 and I haven't been to bed yet, but I have the rabbits, dogs and chickens fed already and just a few waterers to go. Taking a break. Makayla has minimum day today. Trying to figure out if I should even think to lay down because afternoon kindergarten has to be there at 8am to be let out early. I'll never get up. Then I have to drop her off about an hour away so daughter #3 can take her to get her icture for her 6 Flags pass. I paid for it, but she's trying to use it to become the favorite auntie again since daughter #2 took her to Disneyland and she hasn't been able to top it. Paying for the pass was worth it, cause I might get some days off of kids.

No other pips in the hatcher. The 2nd chick I had to help out isn't really moving around that much, but it did have to have a little bath so it could even move since it was so stuck together. The other one is all over the place. I wish I knew what happened. Only thing I can think of is the temp must have evaporated the water too fast. All those pretty eggs. sign

OK break over.........

Ok, I definitely hatch too much. Just called my post office and said nothing but "I just wanted to let someone know I had a shipment of eggs coming today" (did not give name) and she immediately knew who I was and said she already had my phone number on their bulletin board. ROFL.

You call people before 6 am!

Best time to pick them up. I like picking up chicks and other people getting just stuff just have to see if you really have live chicks in there.

Hey, my PO is the same, although they've gotten to where they don't call, they just bring them to the door as my carrier always wants to know what I'm getting this time!

They know I work at home so am usually there and, if not, they know to leave them in a cabinet on my deck. Wish the eggs would be handled with such care all along the route and shipped eggs would be no problem.

I PM'ed these yesterday, but here are 2 of my entries:

Christmas (December)
7 day old Lavender Orpingtons

Easter (April)
3 Easter Eggers, 1 Black Sex link, 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes . All Pullets and all about 11 days old

I love how you managed to get this shot without a speck of baby poop in it. If I tried this my chicks would have little turds scattered all over before I could get the camera focused!
