Maine

More snow for Tuesday.

Thought that if I at least appear to be thrilled about it then it won't happen. Somehow I don't think it will work. Enough. Enough. Enough. NO MORE SNOW. My chickens have made it very clear that this is their wish.
My son did that today, too! He said maybe if he SAYS he wants it, it won't come. That's my boy-hope it works!

Quote: I think hoppy was referring to 2" of NEW snow. I live in the same general area.
I don't think we have 18" of old snow, though, even in the woods. It is so crusty that you don't sink in, so it is kind of hard to tell exactly.

The sun is really cutting back the snow in the yard. I still hope to put the peas in on April 19, which is my usual date.

Caught up on some really funny stories and a bunch of other news in here.
Wish I could say I was on my way over, but...
Been working on many things at home recently. Hping to turn enough profit to up the down payment on a house.
Work hasnt been easy to find in Maine, but still waiting on some posts out in Wyoming. (probably wont happen)

My one success was the incubator and cross expiriment.
Had a Houdan and Silkie mix and calling it a Houkie

re: if the pheromone and flower scented bait attractant should pose any problem to the chicks? I strongly doubt it.
I had several of the pheremone-attractant traps around the orchard last year, and dumped them into the chicken run frequently with no ill effects other than a feeding frenzy stampede! I will definitely be doing the same thing this year.
