Could anyone tell me where I can find Robbins shavings. I just bought my last bale from TSC. It was awful.

Got mine at Agway.

I will tell you that mine seem to prefer any water source other than the two I provide (one waterer in the run, one in the coop), including nasty mud puddles. This morning I noticed they had jumped up on an overturned bucket that accumulated rain water last night. Maybe they like the novelty!

Mine will drink from a bowl, the rain barrel, dog's dish and puddles before they'll drink from the 2 waterers I have out for them. The little brats!

Don't forget sucking rain drops off tarps/plastic, anything that will hold a bit of water. ?Can chickens suck?

Ok folks, enlighten me. On other threads, I'm hearing folks talk about buying sun flower seeds for $15/50#, and whole grains for less than that. When I priced grains, I paid approx. $25 for 50#, and the cheapest BOSS I found today was $18/40#. What gives? I know that we are not in the grain belt, but should there be THAT much of a discrepancy? Any one out there in Maine know where to find quality grain and pellets for a decent price???

$25 for 50# of what kind of grain? I have not found any cheap BOSS prices. A lot of times, I just buy Purina feed at TSC because it is convenient. Recently, I've been getting my layer feed in New Sharon. It is 18% protein, "GMO aware", and slightly more expensive at $32 for 88#. They sell cheaper stuff too, but I don't know those prices.

This feed used to say GMO free. I think the GMO aware designation is an indication that it is almost impossible to guarantee something is GMO free, since pollen can travel quite a distance.
