Major Parent Fail by Me.

You seem to understand your child very well. You get to choose whether to label yourself and child.

I was adopted. I was nearly 40 when I realized that I must have been ADHD as a child - which was one of a bazillion family disorders - many of which I handed to my kids.

2 of my kids and I all realize that we only retain information that is interesting to us (as well as a wealth of other quirks).

Each of us, with unique talents and challenges, must find our own path through life. Simply help your child find his own way. Stay positive. We square pegs in a world of round holes are by far the most interesting beings.

I was exactly like that too! I tended to be more of a hands on learner.

Is there anyway to make learning the things he has trouble with, more hands on? If the mind and body are working together, it's easier for the mind to stay on target and not stray.
