Making chocolate silver laced orpington

That's great!!! Fantastic job!! I live to breed for that but my mom has me on rooster limit cause she hates it when they crow. I love it when crow makes me laugh but she thinks I should them bedroom window to help make wake me up for school

Okay, here are two pictures of the chicks. They seem to be chocolate silver laced with some gold leakages. I have two look like this so far. Will have to see how they turn out when fully featured.

Thanks all! I am glad I finally got one or two..I was just started to feel discouraged as I need find homes for the large number of black ones have hatched. Now hope is up!

Curious though if the chicks are silver laced why would they have any gold?
Ive never really worked with lace so im following.

I think it is probably because they are incomplete laced. Or the silver laced hens carry non-sexlinked gold gene (ap) which will not altered by S gene. I will have to wait when they fully feathered to be sure.

I think I never mentioned that the F1 rooster to black silver laced hens will produce chocolate female chicks only as F1 rooster carries only 1 dose of chocolate to pass to its daughters, not sons. Today, I have another look of the chocolate silver laced chick. She looks rather promising!
