I have a bird named Ethel... Her behind is always so dirty. Today I hosed it with warm water in the sink and cut the clump out with scissors. I also noticed today that it looks like she has black on her face and feathers around her face like motor oil... She also has a little pussulant on her wattle... I looked that up and if it's pox, there isn't much you can do but wait it out. Wondering if she got into the boys' bikes or climbed under our car which may have caused the black oil look on her face.... Angel's wattle.... The one that got cut has decided to look shriveled... Uggghhhhh not sure what to do. I will research and see if that is part of the healing process... Still red, but shriveled with the scab on the bottom. I take good care of my birds... Super clean... Area and coop, no run ( free range) but I understand that birds are like children and **** happens. Advice welcome.. But I will see if any of this is worrisome.
