I have a bird named Ethel... Her behind is always so dirty. Today I hosed it with warm water in the sink and cut the clump out with scissors. I also noticed today that it looks like she has black on her face and feathers around her face like motor oil... She also has a little pussulant on her wattle... I looked that up and if it's pox, there isn't much you can do but wait it out. Wondering if she got into the boys' bikes or climbed under our car which may have caused the black oil look on her face.... Angel's wattle.... The one that got cut has decided to look shriveled... Uggghhhhh not sure what to do. I will research and see if that is part of the healing process... Still red, but shriveled with the scab on the bottom. I take good care of my birds... Super clean... Area and coop, no run ( free range) but I understand that birds are like children and **** happens. Advice welcome.. But I will see if any of this is worrisome.

Long day. Time for bed.... Gotta make some cigerettes for the man and get these trumpet heads to bed and try to get some rest... Fried Alice's eggs tonight cause I made burger dips and have a couple boys that love medium done fried eggs on em. Not as orange inside as Ethel's but still rich looking. Until the next adventure life brings us, I bid you goodnight.

Attimus, when is a good time to start clipping jerrys Spurs. The nail is just starting to grow out of the nub.... And at this young age do you think I should still use a dremel... Or dog clippers.

Plenty of time before his spurs would be something to worry about. Enjoy him coming into his own for now.
Pictures of the chickens faces? Mine get under the cars all the time and get dirty. If your concerned its pox you should consider separating her. I'm also interested to see what the wattle looks like.
Great turtle btw looks bigger than my slider.

Some morning are harder to get up than others and some morning the worries start to kick in. Think this girl needs a day out side with her chickens. The vitamin d will be good for me... Hoping for a good outcome of the day. So good morning to all and see us tonight.
