Making wet mash

When one makes wet mash by wetting their starter feed for a treat, is there any powdered spices you can include or should avoid with 1-week olds? I first thought of adding black pepper, but I don't know if that would be suitable or palatable.

Just use water and their normal chick starter.
Any complete chick starter should have EVERYTHING they need, except water.
There is no need to add anything.
It will be healthy for them, and delicious to them, with nothing else added.

The only time they need spices is when they're in the oven...

I sprinkle it with delicious fish meal.
