He is such a nice man! I had the fortune to meet him a couple months ago. Got to spend two hours talking with him and looking at his birds.

It depends on how soon you are going to show them. SCNA reccommends no younger than 8 months, but I've started them at five months before. Every time you open their pen, pick them up, hold for a second, and then put them back down. That way they learn that you aren't going to kill them when you reach out. Eventually, take 'em inside to watch TV with you. Don't wake them up to do this, but if you're not doing anything else anyway, just put them on your lap and talk to them during commercials. I have a pullet, the younger sister of my really nice wheaten, who I may start training for a show a month from now. She's nuts at the moment, but she should get better in that amount of time.
