Doubt seriously they are Serama, if so, how did they get there? As for free ranging, if they are serama they wouldn't last long. Would love seeing pictures of what you are calling serama.

They may perhaps be some type of landrace. They are extra tiny with the squirrel and do well free ranging. Each flock will stick together, running across the yard with nobody left behind.
From what I've been told, they're Native to where they were caught. (not sure where, exactly. From what I understand, It was in the more tropical areas of Mexico). He calls them Cozumeles or Cozumles or something like that. He really doesn't know what they are, though.

That last I saw of him was two years ago, when the crime rate was not as high. No photo's, sorry.

Love seeing all those pretty girls Jerry! So many neat colors, with such nice type!
Im super happy with the pair I got from you, the blue laced birds are soooo gorgeous!
They are doing well with this frigid weather, better than I expected. Your hen is the only hen that I have
that has been laying most of the winter! Look forward to breeding them this spring!

From my readings the Serama original mix had a Malaysian Jungle fowl in it? Is this accurate and does anyone have a picture of this bird? Just curious
Thanks

Actually I have had much different results with my birds. I've actually found that my seramas are much better at surviving attacks outside than the larger birds. First was a dog attack. I lost 12 birds that day (still very hard to think about even though it was almost a year ago) and none of them were my seramas. They all hunkered down and found hiding spots where even I had a hard time finding them, and they stayed very still and quiet. The second time was a falcon attack. Again my seramas found great hiding places while everybody else ran around like crazy things cackling their heads off. Don't doubt the free range ability of a small bird

Mine are also doing very well being outside in the coop this winter - YEAH!! last year I took them in cause I had a few older birds who wouldn't have survived the cold. This year I left my young birds outside and they are happy as can be
