mallard duck hatching & problem: please advise *pictures included*

Update

I think he has absorbed all of it & the shell. He is so active right now Just wanted to let ya'll know the good outcome. What a pretty little duckling!

I had a little mallard/type do the same thing, he was 2 days behind the other hatchlings and much smaller than they when he finally came out of the shell.
it did break the umbilicus and did bleed for a minute but I put it on a warm paper towel and within 10 hours it was fine and in the brooder with its other hatch mates.

It will be absorbed in and should be fine this morning.
