Mallard or Rouen?

Trying to figure out if this girl is a mallard or Rouen and also whether it’s ok for her to breed with a welsh harlequin.

Easiest way to tell is size. Rouen are HUGE, mallards are tiny.

Shouldn't be a problem to breed with a Welshie. They are both the same species, just different breeds.

Ive had her for 3 years I always thought she was a Mallard which is why her name is Mallory but I didn’t even know a Rouen looked similar and started second guessing myself. She is very small so I’d say mallard is correct. Thank you!!

She is a cutie for sure! She surprised me and decided to sneakily start sitting on 9 eggs a couple weeks ago so we’ll see how it goes!

Update: I THOUGHT she was sitting on 9 eggs. All of the babies hatched yesterday with a grand total of 14 beautiful babies!

Congratulations! The babies are so dang cute! They always seem to sneak extra eggs in without us knowing

Congrats! Seems it was determined she was a mallard. Depending on where you got her from one way to tell if looking at the feet, usually they clip the back toe on one foot to signify a domestic mallard.
