MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

My mallard hen has been sitting on 12 of her eggs and today 11 of the 12 hatched,so excited she's my first broody duck!

There are 2 things that I look for at this stage. One is the beak, the beak on the females is a brighter orange color around the edges. The drake's beak is more of an Olive Drab color even on adults. Also the voices are different. Usually the female is louder. The female has a clearer guack while the male has a raspy voice.

These pictures I took yesterday and I believe are better then the original two... Neither of them really make noise, so I cant go off of the sound of the quake or raspy noise... The only thing I have to really go of is there coloring and quietness...

They look exactly like my mallards who are 8 weeks old. One has more orange on bill and other dark olive. Today the orange billed one quacked like a hen when i caught her to put her in the outside pen and the olive bill made a low pitched sound not a quack! I believe I have a hen and a drake!
