That is the reason why I never use a heat lamp on ducks. Ducks so sturdy and don't need high temps once hatched. I usually start off with a 100 watt light bulb 2 feet above and reduce the wattages as I go. I need to point out that my ducklings always start off in the 70 degree kitchen with a sunny window behind.

MamaCatPatch: I have read through this thread and anticipated your ducklings hatching. Thank you so much for your continuous posts, I am so glad that you went ahead and incubated.

I suspect that these ducks will have a special place in your heart.

Two eggs with a cracked hole in them. I admit I chipped off a tiny bit from each of them just to help them out ... help them out ... get it?

Oy vay, been a busy two days!

There is also ONE more that just HAS TO BE duck filled but no crack yet. Time will tell!!!!
