Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

Pretty much! I got them the first week in September. I know I mentioned it on another thread, but maybe just not this one. So glad to be back after my self-imposed exile! <HOLY SMOKES>. Went to put in a smiling little guy and there’s a whole doggone bunch of ‘em to sort through!!

Vaguely recall maybe reading that...but you know CRS :gig

Yes, the new format is a bit of a pickle, but not too bad once you get used to the changes.
New software is always a challenge...hang in there!

I think I vaguely remember CRS....I’m way past that! :hmm No chicken math here - lessons learned long ago. I have 11, and I’m content with that. We have a couple of Welsummers, 3 Easter Eggers, a Speckled Sussex, a Brown Partridge Leghorn, a Light Brahma (gotta have a Tank!!), 2 Swedish Flower Hens, and a Crested Cream Legbar. That’s a nice variety of chickens and egg colors, and that’s manageable with all that‘s going on in my personal life. This was the first time I ever got chicks in the fall, and it’s not a bad idea. MHP didn’t get much of a workout, and it was a lot more pleasant going out to take care of them when I wasn’t slogging through snowdrifts. As they got older and the weather got colder, they were already independent enough to just top off the feeder and water every couple of days. So yeah, Bruce was right - getting chicks in the fall is not a bad idea after all!
