Sure you could, might just have to hold them under there until they 'feel the heat'.Wondering if I can switch my 3 week old bantams over to this easily. I'll post pics later!
I have a question. Sorry if it's been answered before, but this thread has gotten too long to research. Got my chicks this morning. They are under the MHP. Earlier they were out drinking and eating. Now they are all under the pad. What has me concerned is that they are so very quiet. I'm used to chicks peeping and making noise. Does this mean they are content or is something wrong? Am hoping the height of the pad is okay. Have it a bit higher in front and lower in back, Figured they could pick out where they are most comfortable.
Quiet made me a little nervous, too, but now I know the alarm cheep will come if they need something. If you just got them this morning they're probably recovering from whatever journey they had and settling in now that they feel safe. As long as they all know where food and water are they'll come out for it.![]()
