Mama's Flying Penguins and Ramblings

Pics
@WhoDatChick

I did it again... guy was selling some fun barnyard mixes... and I didn't want the two baby brahmas to go to the big brooder all lonely like  :gig

They are Brahma, EE, Barred Rock, and Americauna mixes.

L to R: Sugar (brahma mix), Syrup (Americauna mix), Burnt (EE mix), Sorbert (mystery orange and white coloring), Midnight (possible Barred rock mix, completely black though)
They're all fiesty and jerks, but hoping to sweeten them up over the next week with being held and loved.
Oh yay!! So cute!! You are awesome!
I can say for sure.. that I am done.... for now! All this integrating is stressing me.. and the chickens... out!! I have fully integrated Nilky and babies... sorry about poor pics.. also the middles getting comfy on the roosts.. and the middles out in the new yard..

Love it!!! Your setup is awesome! We're starting to plan our new larger non-escaping attached run now... excited!!

I hear ya! I got them because I didn't want the two babies in huge outdoor brooder on their own... otherwise I'm with ya!
Integration is awful! I'm happy to report though that after two weeks cajun is not being aggressive towards everyone else now!!:highfive: I actually got to open coop door and just let everyone come and go as they please today which has lessened my stress! :celebrate

Now to see these guys grow up!! :ya:woot
:jumpy:jumpy

My kids are driving me crazy! They do this every year close to the end of the school year. Yesterday they had me in tears :hit... so i can only imagine what they are doing to their teachers. :he

Anyways... Last night I was able to get a few good pictures of some of the girls :D :love

Just when I think there is no hope for a peaceful flock.. this is what I go out to find tonight... EVERYONE all snuggled up together! And they did this all on their own.. every other night I have been having to assist in the roosting department since integrating... but it looks like .. no more assistance from me :celebrate... until the flowers are integrated :th

So awesome!!! Love seeing those little ones on the roost!

Go check out ribs D’ coopage thread... page 108 and see where I wrote about how the integration is going :he

Aww!!! :( But agree with Rib.. sounds like chicken weaning... Cajun still will grab back feathers and yank here and there normally she's already fone a "friendly " peck to telk them to move and they didn't.
I want to intervene so much!! But i know if i do they won't work it out.. i have a broom beside my coop now and if cajun or bbq (she is starting to want to be top) pull out feathers or raise feet i just bring the broom slowly between them. It's working so far!

Cajun last night misstepped with me and i yanked her tail feathers and chased her outta the coop! :gig:lau She came in way more humble. I haven't done that to her before so she was surprised :bow

Ok so i found the old hay rake that the previous owner left behind... i use this to rake the sand and turn it a bit.

I use kitty scoop with a bucket to scrape things and clean up big and medium bits. It still leaves quite a bit of dirt, seeds, and such. I'm thinking of taking one of the old window scrren kits, make it smaller and using it to shift the sand better!

Everyone at their feeding areas!

The babies out in their cage, the big ones go over and chase them every nown and then so definitely wont let out for at least a month!

Here's some videos too...

So these guys were being aggressively pecked at in the Atwoods bin... so my bleeding heart had to bring them home....:love:he

They have feathers on their feet... not sure on breed could they be :confused:brahmas??!! Or maybe Cochins???
Let's see guesses! :pop

Oh girl! You crack me up! I feel better about my 18 chickens! I think I have too many... I may be giving Kathryn GLW.. to my neighbor/friend... she said she would take her.. I hate to get rid of a perfectly good egg layer.. but if she causes unrest... then I probably should send her away :idunno... I feel so bad :(

The chickies are adorable... I can’t really tell from pic..
How many do you have now?
