Man I hate the egg laying song!

They've been doing it for millions of years, whether people were around to hear it or not.
In the wild, a hen will go off to the nest to lay while the rest of the flock continues to forage. When she's done, she will call out, "Hey, where are your guys?"
They will return with the same call, meaning "Here we are"?
They still do it today, even if they are all in the same pen.
I've heard the same song from roosters when they get separated from the flock.
It is ingrained genetically. A hen makes the call and they all respond in kind.

Well my dogs will be happy tonight with their evening meal they will have 2 fresh eggs, one is grossly still body temerature. I have never felt a warm egg prior to today.
I still love finding a warm egg, especially on freezing cold day.

Why feed to dogs, you do not eat eggs?

The egg song, which is very hard(for me anyway) to tell apart from the alarm call, has sent me running too......but in time you will learn the difference.

My newest layer is very vocal and she gets all of them going at once. I love it!
You'll learn the difference with time and come to enjoy their lovely voices
