I got this girl from a breeder in Australia (just down the road from my place). Marans genetics are apparently pretty limited here. I actually wanted a Black Copper, but just couldn't afford the prices of them, so decided to get a wheaten instead.
However, she's very red, with a black tail, and while her underparts are buff, they seem pretty dark. She does have feathered feet, quite gracious ones, and her personality is very docile, unruffled, and friendly.
Do these guys go paler as they age, or is this just not a wheaten at all?
