Jan~ The weather we are having is "da' total bomb!"

Wynette~ Yep, must have pictures. I like them at all stages, but I think my favorites are chicks up to 2 weeks and then again around 2 mos when they start looking like little mini chickens and they really start finding themselves and their semi-big chicken 'tudes. Granted some of them hatch with that big chicken 'tude watching them grow is probably my all time fav.

BTW: I'm a BLUE snob!

Uh ya... guilty here also...

Hey I got an idea (thanks pink) since Don started a wheaton thread and pink is a blue lover... I started a BLACK COPPER thread... It might be easier to find out about (snobby area alert!!Black copper snob) just the BC's if it is a narrower field... I went to find something I read and OMGosh there is a million pages... (a little over exaggerated here) but you know what I mean... Besides... can we ever talk TOO MUCH about our birds!! ???? NOPE!!! I do not think so!!! LOL

PINK: Nuthin at all... Just wanted to talk BC.. that's all.. kinda go over basics from the top ya know... Lots of newbies this spring... Kinda a place for jumping off for ppl just getting started on Just BC and can go for reference material... It is easier to surf a smaller thread.... Love this place... just adding on a new room... not moving out!!! LOL

Hi,
There are some Bantam Marans out there. Preportedly in Black, Black Copper and Cuckoo colors. Many of the flock are "Phantoms". They exist online in text but when contacted, they either don't exist or have nothing for sale or the contact info doesn't go thru at all or there is no reply to repeated attempts to contact. Check the Darkegglayers and the MCCUSA lists and keyword search the archives for "Bantam Marans". That should give you hits on at least three who have the birds. I think they are a close-knit crew of breeders. I think you'll have to prove to them you are serious about seriously breeign this variety and not wantig to make money off selling this variety. Not sure how you'll do this, but pretty certain it will be necessary before they let anything go.
Best,
karen Tewart
