BEAUTIFUL! I personally love the ruby red jewel toned eggs more than the dark dark ones. Don't get me wrong they are both beautiful but my favorites are those rubies!

This is my first ever ruby colored one and I have to agree with you...they are just stunning! I am so happy to see that all the hard work I did last year on setting up breeding pens and tracking down stock is producing results like this!

Now to just get my birchens to laying this color next

Congrats! Les! So Cute! Looks like little Charmy and Gnarles baby didn't get but a couple of feather stubs on the shanks, is that right? It also looks like this little baby is going to have the whiteish pink colored legs. Usually (lately) the Splash chicks have been hatching with darker legs that are turning a pale slate color, but from time to time I get one that has the light or white legs. The last Splash roo that I grew out had the most beautiful white legs and white shank feathering. Too bad he was being mean to my Blue Copper roo.

Birchen Question???

Exactly how is Birchen pronounced? Silly question I know...but it's making me crazy. I've had people tell me a couple different things. Would it be:

Bir-kin? or Bir-chin...as in the hair on the chinny chin chin? Thanks!
