The weight of the world and current events in it and my own current life events have just got a hold of me and I am just not myself lately, I just cannot seem to shake it. Thank the Lord for Great family and friends..whether near or far. More family coming today from out of state, I suspect it will be pretty jamb packed busy here for several more days. I am very happy they are coming and really at this point have never looked so forward to being completely surrounded by folks and giving up my privacy and my loner ways. Again Thank You ALL! I hope you are all doing wonderful!

Poularde~ One of my little chicks that just hatched has splayed leg...my sister insisted on naming her Weeble and we hobbled her legs yesterday morning before we left for my doctors appt. When we came home we found her running around with very little difficulty. She has found her way to the food and the water. She is still pretty wobbly and falls down here and there but she is doing good.

I agree, my girls are very sweet and I didn't cuddle or play with them upon arrival at about 3-4 months of age. The roo is the sweetest thing and he wasn't cuddled either. He has a pretty good disposition as well.

Hey Pink,
Nice to see you stop in - hang in there... Not sure if the weather has improved any where you are, but if it has, a deep breath in the sunshine can work wonders

I candle at 7 days and mark any that I think are duds. . . . Then I candle at 14 days and remove any that are still duds. . .

I got around 30 shipped eggs in the incubator right now and at 7 days . . . . only 3 or 4 were looking like duds

I'll be candling again tonight. . . I was too tired last night!

The SS babies are kinda flighty. The grown SS are an entirely different thing. I think my one SS has taken out a life insurance policy on me BECAUSE she is ALWAYS rubbing up against my leg as she cuts me off and almost trips me. One day, I may post that I have broken my leg and you will know it was because of this overly friendly SS.

They are very quite talkers. . . . and YES they are chatty . . . arrrr arrrr arrrr rrr arrrr

I am wondering if they make MUZZLES for BCM cockerels. . . .

I got two mutts hatched, two mutts pipped, and two BC marans pipped. A bit on the early side but I won't complain. The hard thing will be stay at work all day and not leaving early to check on them! I can't wait to see what my BC marans give me for chicks. I will take photos when the hatching is done. I know Math at least wants to see them as I am sending her some of these same BCM eggs in trade on Monday!

Here is a picture of my roo and one of my hens!

Sending you lots of positive energy right now, Kim!! Enjoy the family; they can be a little overwhelming at times but can definitely brighten the day. Laughter is a great cure for a lot of things
