Just the roos can be gold. They carry two copies of that particular gene, hens only one. Hens would be either old or silver. Roos would all be split S/s+ gold birchens.
oh...ok..that makes more sense...I was trying to wrap my head around it. Since the hens only carry one copy, if they are silver, their offspring if crossed with a silver birchen will always be silver then, yes?
