Okay, here's a question to open another can of worms:
If Blue Wheaten and Wheaten are just one gene different, then why is the Wheaten hen wing color "wheat color" and the blue wheatens is "Outer web, medium shade of wheaten; inner web bluish wheaten stippled with brownish blue." on the proposed standard?
Wouldn't having brownish blue on wing primaries indicate there should be "brownish black" on standard wheaten hens? It seems that promoting that standard for blue wheatens would be to the detriment of any standard wheatens from the same line. How do you get brownish blue on primaries if your standard wheatens have wheat color wings?
Just asking.
