Thank you Jeremey! Now only if I had your GAW-GEOUS Blue Copper gal that you hatched out from Monique to make some babies with Lil' Bill, my day would be made.

Vicki~ He is 7 months old now and I have yet to get some eggies from him under a broody or in the 'bator. One thing after another and time is not on my side right now. Things will settle down and I will be able to get on it. Sooner rather than later I hope. You know how it is.

Oh and you asked what kind of camera I got....well I was looking for something made in the U.S. but that didn't happen so I figured if I was going to get one it better be a good one....so I got the Fuji Finepix S2940 with 14 megapixels, 3" LD screen , Photobook assist (whatever that is

) Motion Panorama, 18X Wide 28mm optical zoom, HD movie, Smile and Shoot, Blink detection and dual image stabilization. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

hey Lisa, I think the building contest was between you and Ivywoods... My project has been in the making for a while, but haven't been able to get started since I had about 20 other things I needed to get done and I needed to use the space for my chicks I hatched out to grow. I'm determined I'm going to do some more sorting today and take some measurements and assess my materials in the hay mount so I can see what I still need to get for building. Luckily I've done some reconfiguration and planning and have modified things to work with what I have and be much more efficient with materials.

I'd be 5'2" . You have a great day too, hope you get those coops finished. Of course, we'll need pics!

Just got in from the coop, not good. I had a dead hen laying under the feeder. From the looks of it, she must've jumped off the roost sometime in the night or very early this morning, and hit the heavy chain that holds the feeder up? She was quite cold, no signs of fight or trauma, and no one else looked scared or had any signs of fighting. She was one of the hens due to be culled any way, and she was the one hen that could get stuck in the oddest places too. Poor girl. I'll do an autopsy, well at least a good look-see, later. I wanted her out of the flock, but surely not like this... RIP Pretty.

Sounds like a lovely camera indeed! and 14 megapixels is fantastic...it will give you lots of options for editing without losing image quality!

I so understand how it always seems to be one thing after another and running out of time...that's how I've felt for the last 2 years...but it seems increasingly so this summer

Debbi~ That is sad...I am sorry. I know she was a cull but it is always disturbing to walk into something like that.

Vicki~ Talk about building projects....I should have had my Delaware coop finished last year but that didn't happen....yesterday I finally built a 3 box nest box for it (good thing it has only been used to house cockerels) and hoping to hang the nest box and put in some roosts today (poor guys have been roosting on some propped up old tree limbs, which work, but it will be better once they are fixed). Notice that I said hoping.

haha I use that word in all its forms all the time, "hoping, hope, hoped....etc" when it comes to all I need to do and want to get done. I remember when I used to feel like I had all the time in the world and was able to pull off huge projects in one day...I don't know...but I just can't get as much done in a day at all anymore. But, crazy enough...we still keep hoping don't we?

Thanks gals. Yes, not something I care to see first thing in the morning. It dawned on me when I got back inside, that Pretty was the very first chick I ever hatched. But, life goes on, and it looks like it will be a gorgeous day here.. Everyone take care and caution on this tenth anniversary of 9/11. Please take time to reflect on those who were lost, and how it changed our lives forever.
