Yum... Black Copper Marans rooster who did not make the cut, in the pot boiling away. Just pulled the meat off the bones, soooooo tender and a suculant smell, not to mention taste! Put the meat aside and the bones back in the pot boiling down for stock. Having chicken soup for dinner! Love these marans and all the faults that come with them, just gives me a good reason to eat the ones who don't meet SOP!

Yeah! I never thought I would care for the Fuzz Butts or for bantams for that matter. But I've got to say, these little guys make me smile everytime I look at them. You will love them too, I'm sure!

I just looked at my Blue/Splash Marans babies, and typical for here, at "Roos-R-Us", looks like out of 5, I have THREE ROOS!!!

And to make matters worse, the Splash, which I wanted to be a roo, is a pullet!
