ok...forgive these girls their overcoloredness...they were from the beginning of my project and things have improved quite a bit since then, but this was the first one i could find. I need to get more photos of my birchens...I decided I will take photos of each of the ones that make my breeding pens for this next year
haha now you see why I spend so much time in the barn?
I could stare at blue birchens for hours. Its always been my all time favorite color pattern in poultry. When I found some blue birchens in the Marans I was beside myself for weeks.

haha we may have more fun but we seriously pay double for it HAHA! i dont know about the other red heads but ornery fun will always get you in double trouble.
haha sooooo true. I always was told when I was growing up that the red hair was to serve as a warning to others...but I think its double edged...it also immediately puts you on the radar. I've gotten in trouble for things I didn't even do before because I got told I had that "look" in my eye.
believe it or not. My oldest brother pretty much won the award for strongwilled child of that decade. I was easy when i was little "supposedly" but once i hit 16 man I came into my own. I gave my parents their share of gray hairs. but I always worked hard... but knew how to let loose.
