Here's some more pics. These pics of the chick, at 12 days old, were taken outside in sunlight, so color is real:

Here are more pics of my blue copper hens (pullets [IMG]https://www.backyardchickens.com/img/smilies/roll.png, they are only 9 months old):
These 2 are from the same breeder, shows, doesn't it?
Here's the girl on the left in the pics above:
And here's the girl on the right:
And my third girl is from an entirely different breeder. She is a darker gray and has less copper coloring:
And lastly, here is my cockerel, from the same breeder as the 2 lighter gray hens. He is looking a little sad right now, I've had him inside and am treating him and trying to get his comb color back, his energy back, and some weight on him. Not sure what his problem is, but I put a couple of dozen eggs in the incubator just in case he doesn't make it. He lacks feathering on his feet, so I'm hoping to get a better male out of the hatch anyway. In the meantime, he's all I have! He's a nice boy, I think, aside from the lack of foot feathers. I'm glad he didn't decide to fly off when I perched him on the junk pile

Hi!
Do you have some more photos of the Blue Coppers and that chick? The chick is a recessive pop up and looks to me like it may be Salmon or Wheaten. If I hadn't read of the stripe down the back I would have stuck with just Wheaten.
Love the splash gal!
Thanks! I like her, too. Someone on this thread had suggested I put her in with the black coppers to get blues. I am supposed to be able to tell which eggs are hers--but hers are pretty dark and there may be a black copper that is laying eggs about the same color. So...my plan is to separate all the lightest colored eggs in the hatch tray, the ones that hatch out blue I know will be hers, the ones that hatch out black, I know I don't want to keep since the eggs weren't as dark as I'd like. Sound like a plan?
I don't have any more GOOD pics, but I'll take some today and post them later. My blue coppers lay pretty dark eggs, not as dark as the blacks, but they lay bigger eggs than the blacks.
