Your welcome.

Maybe it will molt out, but probably not, that said he is still young and so as you already stated and know they will still change alot. I can not see the white feather in the photos that you posted but IMO the white feather on the toe would be a small hurdle when a person considers all the other things Marans we are working with.

I would like to see him off the wire floor and standing out doing his thing if you can someday. I bet he looks even better when at ease. I'm curious as to his chest when he is standing up naturally but I suspect he has good shape. Just a hunch.

Hi Slick! Merry Christmas!

I would only keep the cockerel with the yellow band. He is my favorite.

He was my second choice but ix-nayed him because of the ombay, the blade is going to be one of those that twists to side or turns out.

flgardengirl ; Here is a pic of a Red/White Marans I saw at the Newnan,GA show. It was the first Marans I've ever seen in person, colored this way.

Here are some other colors that I saw that maybe some of the new people haven't seen before:

Hi,
In other breeds this, White Red color is called a Pyle ...tho the Pyle
is arrived at by a different formula than the White Red Marans.
This Salmon Marans boy (raised, shown and owned {but not bred by}
by Connie Zullo) is the sire of my pullets. Lovely, isn't he?
Best Regards,
Karen

ok...that makes sense. I guess I saw it but it didn't register til you said it. I cannot believe how exhausted I am right now...but with 4 screaming children there is no way I'm gonna have an early night.
