Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

. And until the actual source speaks up and shows me proof - it is, like all the others, considered a rumor, gossip, slander. I'm amazed that for the past four years people can get on BYC or the Yahoo groups and "trash" my birds and make references to their "source" of their info but are NEVER AT LIBERTY to say where they got their information. How can this possibly help any breed or breeder?

I am going to step in here for just a minute and referee this.... ENOUGH ALREADY!

Ruth, if you go back and read the posts made by Debbi or PinkChick, you will find that the carnation comb issue has been discussed in GREAT detail for MONTHS. Neither lady is singling you out or bashing your stock. BOTH ladies have had to deal with the issue and are on the look out for it.... They are QUEENS (instead of Kings) when it comes to comb defects due to their own personal experiences with it. These ladies have been very OPEN about the issues that they have been dealing with and want to SAVE OTHERS from the heartache!

Thank God you have been blessed with a Flock free of it. There is NO SLANDER here. They are doing as you asked... providing feedback on what they saw. You can agree or disagree... Every one can have their opinion.

The bashing should STOP immediately. . . MOVE ON to another topic before the moderators have to step in

You wouldn't happen to know the price associated with this model? ?

Quote: Same price. SOmeone contacted GQF and they said that is all they are shipping out, that they are new for 2012, but they have not yet changed their picture on their website. $135. at GQF. Cutlers is cheaper ($128), but I don't know if they have the new models yet,

I read about it in this thread....

Ok....so I got some update pics on the eggs going in the incubator. This will be my one wild card hatch of the year...meaning they will not be from individual test matings. So, some will have to go and some will be good...it will be fairly easy to tell once they start growing. Luckily I have a few friends that sell eggs and are always in the market for new laying stock, so I'm in luck! haha

the first tray is from the pen where Gigantor and Big Boy are, there is also my black ameraucana in there too, so I might possibly get some olive eggers as well. I really hope I will get a few cause this is where my pen of most of my dark layers are. The second tray is from my birchen pen (not bad on the egg color progress so far!). Some of these eggs have a decent amount of bloom, so I'm hoping that they will hatch ok! The lone egg is from that blue copper girl you really like Kim. I haven't been able to get home in time to collect her eggs before they have frozen...so this is the only one so far....grrr... but its still a start! I had the flash on, so the color is not quite as deep in the photo as the eggs really are, but it's as close as I could get.

Hi all!

Cleaned out my 'bator and set some eggs from my young pure Jeane girls.

I'm going to do the single mating thing, as soon as I get my set-up built, but I'm curious to see what these young girls produce!
