Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Donna~ I did see that! THAT'S AWESOME!!!! Congrats!

Vicki~ The Barnie eggs are pure Barnie's this time. However, 2 of my youngest pullets will be going in with the new roo and the 2 BLRW girls, the BLRW's have been in with Lil' Bill taking up some empty coop space as the Barnie pen was getting a little crowded.

Speaking of Lil' Bill......I am soooo in love with this bird! I really really love his copper.

By the way....no bad combs on any of his male offspring that are old enough to show signs if they had it. The one and only male chick to hatch out of him and an pullet produced from Gnarles and Black Copper from Florida...had a clean comb. Both pullets from the same hatch and same cross are also showing good combs but they are still young, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

OK I GIVE!!!!! I am going to have to divide my 4 front coops and runs in half to add 4 more. That will be 18!!!!!!! pens I use for breeding and growing out. I knew that was coming....

I'm really glad that things are looking up for your Marans!

I didn't think about the Barnie eggs being pure...i think I have blue on the brain haha
I think your barnies are nice looking. When i went over to the barnie thread I saw a girl I particularly liked and can only imagine how great it would be to see them in blues!

I am so in love with his beautiful blue feathers on his chest. That is stunning!

I do have a blue project with them going on Vicki....I must have blues in every variety of chookers I can....with the exception of my beloved Welsummers, I could never make them blue.
