Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

I got my first shipment of BC Marans eggs today- 10 Wade Jeane C-1 eggs, 8 Bev Davis line eggs, and 17 Blue, Black Splash Maran eggs...3 extra Olive Eggers eggs too- here are a couple of pics- lots of nice speckles on the WJ eggs and those ones are the darkest too. The rest are lighter than I was hoping for, but there are a few pretty dark nice ones. They go in the incubator tomorrow am....

for a lot of cute fuzzy butts in 3 weeks!

ever have a bad day....and then realize like 2 weeks later every day after that 1st one just kind of continued on the same? Seriously one of the most frustrating days and painful on my back as well. About the only thing that has made it better is coming home to the crazy fuzzies! they are insistent on sleeping during the day and playing all night long...silly turds

I took baby pics today, but must have left the camera at the farm. I have pics of Pink's babies and mine.

AND the new bator

it is just huge!. about 4ft x 3ft x 5ft looks empty with only 115 eggs in it.

I have to go to bed can't stay awake for some reason.

I woke up to happy news! Just heard from one of the Canadian Silkie breeders I was hoping to work with. She is shipping eggs!!!!!!!

(And chicks!) So hopefully, my incubator will be loaded again VERY soon!!!! Friends for Elliot ....

Thanks, that's what I thought, but wasn't sure. The chicks came from the same people who were advertising Black Copper Marans using photos stolen from other sites...

Grrr...I hate it when they do that. I have a listing on my ebay watch list right now that I was interested in. Just happened to be browsing through the french marans site this morning, and thought...ya know, that picture of that birchen sure looks familiar....lo and behold, it's the same picture on the ebay listing. Wonder whose picture is the original? how do people let other buyers know about stuff like that, if you ask the buyer a question, they sure won't post it on their listing

Awwwww! I know exactly how you feel. As they say, "this too, shall pass". Hang in there, spring is on the way and you'll have more fuzzy butts to entertain you too!

Supposed to be in the upper 60s here today!!!

Days are getting much longer too. Can't wait for spring!

If you have proof of who the pic belongs to, you can report the seller to Ebay. There is a report link at the bottom of each page. I've had some of my own pics hijacked in the past, not chickens, but other stuff. I first contact the idiot stealing my pic, and warn them that they STOLE my picture, and that constitutes a Copyright infringement. If they do not pull the pic, I report them. Luckily, Ebay is very strict on this and will not tolerate it. I have seen quite a few of Bev Davis' pics on other people's auctions, so I wrote to Bev to deal with it as she will. That's about all you can do, that and put a watermark on your pictures.
