Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Hey there
frow.gif
- Is this the guy you got from me?
My gosh that roo has changed in over 1.5 weeks or so.... LOL!

Not set up- but I assume it can't be that hard.......

I just went out and took some new pictures while the sun was sorta out. He is a handsome boy....... he is only 12 weeks old

He is really handsome and I like him lots and could put him to good use with some of my girls. As far as shipping, you have to be set up through the NPIP to ship. Do you know anyone that is NPIP that could help? if not, I might be able to see what I could come up with....just might take me a bit.

I don't know anyone that is NPIP- except maybe aceschix? That is where he came from

she is over an hour drive from me.

When he is next to our mutt rooster Big Red- he just doesn't do it for me lol. He is handsome, very good with his flock, not aggressive with the two other cockerels with him (so far.....) and is has not shown aggression towards people either. My husband likes him (and that says alot!) but I really just love the copper/red colors on a rooster..... like Big Red -see below

If ace would be willing to help out, I'd be pleased as punch! I really do like how he looks even at this age.

I want copper on my girls like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stunning! Just STUNNING!!!!
Thanks lady! They sure are fun to watch milling about in the grow out pen. I'll be trying to keep update shots coming of some of my others growing out. It helps me lots to take shots of them to see how they are progressing and to see consistencies or inconsistencies from hatch to hatch and generation to generation. Plus, its a whole lot of fun. And second opinions are always good to make sure I'm not missing anything!

I'd take shots of some of last years blue copper ladies, but the boys have done a bang up job making them look all tattered and pecked up, so I have them off trying to grow their feathers back. When they do, I'll get some update shots.
