Run Ladybug! RUN!!!!!!!!!

WAIT!!!!!! Found another photo of a Marans!

My most beloved Bill.
He is a mess right now, has hurt his wattles and is going to molt...but he is still my boy. He comes over to the fence and paces until I let him out. Yesterday he spent a couple hours in the garden with me, just digging and scratching and eating lots of bugs. He's a big co-dependant baby.

Dear Hubby will not allow another buck to live on our property after he experienced the first Nigi boy to live here. He says all males must be nipped before they can live here from here on in.
Aww, what was his problem??

That big ole Nubian boy I used to bring to my place to breed, was a real, shall we say, aromatic fellow? Wow! If you got near him, you then smelled like him also. I had to make a quick run to town one time, and didn't have time to change clothes. You could see the people in the store with their noses uplifted and sniffing. WTH is that smell??? That was the last time I ever forgot to change clothes!! How mortifying!!

Love the Bleeding Hearts! I haven't seen those in years. They were my favorite little flower as a kid. Old Bill still looking good.

x2! Bleeding hearts remind me of my grandma. Have the pinks and a planting of whites in the front flower garden in rememberance of her.

I am going to look at a couple young nubian does this weekend. Any tips on what I should be looking for? LOL! They are still too young to be milked about 4 mos old. but I'd rather start out with younger goats than older ones.

haha that's a good price, around here, that calf would be goin for 250 to 300.....when you get to meat calves, you're looking between 400 and 600. Its ridiculous how expensive they are right now.

I'm not gonna keep any males but whethers I will borrow one or pay a stud fee, if I have to lol. I was down at the farmer's market one day and someone had a couple bucks out behind there in a trailer that were for sale and man, oh geez, you could smell them things a few blocks away.

With some goats, smaller breeds the distance of the buck can be less, but when you get into full on dairy goats, keeping the bucks near the does will change the flavor of the milk. I was raised on goats milk and have had quite a few breeds over the years and even having garlic or onions drying on racks in the same barn can flavor the milk.
