The cuckoos are easier. I use a 400 lumens flashlight. I can't tell much except they aren't clear

We still need more rain here, at least 3 days of a good, long, soaking rain. It rains in small downpours, then quits, and the grass just stays brown. We are supposed to get more storms on Sunday, I sure hope they don't knock out any power or phones this time! Darned lightning around here is really poweful stuff, and is constantly hitting the ground. One of the phones guys out here that was replacing my line some years ago, said it's because of all the Walnut trees?? Never heard that one before, and the only tree that has ever been struck on my place, is the huge Catalpa tree that lives 15 feet from my front door. When the lightning hit that, it fried my phone lines, and because I had an answering machine attached, it also fried my whole electrical system! Thank God at that point I was still just renting, but now, it's all MY cookie! :gig  It's also struck my shed (twice in one storm!), and fried my well pump! And I also got hit from a ground strike!  Not a big fan of lightning here ...

Wow! That's some extreme weather!

Donna-sorry about your hatch and your hen refusing the blue eggs...
Maybe she can spend the non-hatching part if summer jn the anericauna coop?

Arielle-sorry to hear about your birds.
It always hurts to lose them.

That is a pretty good idea.... but I think she is going to hit the road soon. She has gold leaking.....

I will look her over good just to make sure. I may post some pics for opinions. I MAY have a little Cuckoo roo with GREAT leg feathereing that I can use. I don't see any gold on him... his sister I see it in. I may grow him out and see what he looks like.

Quote: THanks Cadeau and Donna, yeah these were my favorites breed wise, eye candy. It's the roosters who look like spun gold and I have TWO of those running around. THe BO were rated at 3 eggs a week-- mine cranked out an egg almost every day. Will set the last few--just because I must!!

On the plus side, It opens a breeding pen for the marans; I can split the 5 hens, and toss in one of the young roosters I have been growing out with some Grishom blood. Nice looking boys.

Does anyone know how the Grishoms are different than the Bev Davis lines??

Wasn't the Grisham line started from Wade Jeane's birds?

I've always seen Grisham lines listed as Jeane/Grisham. So, that would be my guess.
