Barb, If you have not seen the Silv. Laced from Gardhouse you are in for a treat. Everytime I see them I want to run out and buy some.

It looks a little on the reddish side, but the color is really even. I can't wait to eat it! I bet it has 2 yolks! I have to fast right now before a blood test and I'm starving. I guess you know what I'm having for breakfast when I get back!

So Debbi...you remember me telling you about the 3 sussex marans cross chicks I have? I was trying to get a picture of my favorite one for you and thought I'd catch him when they'd gone to roost so I could bring him up to the house for a photo. Well, madness ensued the minute I caught the little turd. The three 10 pound sussex broodies came flying out of the coop and started chasing me around the run in the dark while I'm holding this chick, so of course I put him down just so they'd stop. That'll teach me to try grabbin a chick from a broody in the dark. I was laughing so hard by the time it was all over. Anyways, I'll try for some photos today if I can, because he's turning into a beautiful birchen! These cross chicks are also just about the beefiest birds I've ever seen for this age. They are like bricks!

Hi,

This is my first post ever on BYC, EXCITING!!
I have two 10 - 12 week old black copper maran pullets.
They are all black with a lovely green sheen to their feathers, will they turn copper coloured with age?
Also I'm hoping they are both pullets and we won't find they turn into cockrels!!
Is it possible to tell at their age?

Thanks
