Hi,

This is my first post ever on BYC, EXCITING!!
I have two 10 - 12 week old black copper maran pullets.
They are all black with a lovely green sheen to their feathers, will they turn copper coloured with age?
Also I'm hoping they are both pullets and we won't find they turn into cockrels!!
Is it possible to tell at their age?

Post pictures of them on here. Try and get a good profile shot and a head on shot. You should be able to tell at 10-12 weeks of age.

Hi pink! The little ones are doing great. Growing like crazy. Still leaning towards one roo too. He has some weight too him too! For a chick, I get surprised to see how heavy he is when picked up. Beefy thing! Love them to pieces and can not wait to see how they grow up

I'm trying to get the photos of the Birchen chicks loaded for you but for some reason they are being the difficult ones to upload. Glad you are getting a bit of rain.



Barb~ That's great! My broody Darryl is still mothering her kiddos, still running to their every beckoning chirp. LOL. Atleast she seems very happy to do it. Last year she had such bad luck trying o be a mom, this is good for her.

Bad Betty is being quite the good mother....didn't think she had it in her but she does. I gave her 5 chicks that hatched and she was glad to take them.

I may be able to get pics this weekend. We are nearing the finish line on the tile in the master 1/2 bath and I might can take a break for a day or two. We grouted yesterday so we just need to polish the last bit of haze off today. Then we get to mix feed for everyone.
