Shucks.

I am torn between waiting and calling him right now. I don't want to jump the gun and possibly insult him but I don't want roosters. Ugh I hate making decisions.

Now please excuse my ignorance, but he also carries silver ones. Is it at all possible that these are light because of that. I am not educated on genetics or the differences at all. I know nothing lol

You have 2 boys ..... if he is true to his word, he will let you bring those guys back and choose something else. Choose darker ones. We know how the barred/cuckoo gene works.

Okay I will call him right now.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. I have no idea what I'm doing lol. I can feed, water, shelter and nurse sick chickens but I am so ignorant when it comes to genetics and sexing.

Wynette and Barb, Next spring I plan to have a poultry seminar somewhere . I am accumulating fowl with DQ and faults and will exhibits them for anyone that wants to come and see.

I am totally in!!! Keep me posted on details and I'm betting I might be able to drag a few other Canadians along!!!!!
Barb, last year I had over 30 birds with DQs and faults I used for the seminars. Most were raised by myself. Soon as the weather is good we can set it up and let everyone know. Will talk to you guys at Columbus. Will be at Columbus around 9 am. You can ask Bill Wulff to point you in my direction. Look forward to meeting you and Wynette.

We will DEFINITELY track you down. (I'll be wearing a Silkie t-shirt of some sort. Layers, but the Silkies will be evident.

Hi Zanna
I'm about 30 minutes North of Seattle. I plan on keeping Oscar. I had 2 other boys from the same hatch (the eggs were a nice 7 I believe, still have the egg shells) that I sold via Craigslist. Darn it, guess I should have posted here or on the Sales list for them first. Next time I will. They were also pretty nice but not as large, chunky and wide as Oscar, but same body shape, color, tail angle, shank color and feathering. Combs were nice too. I plan on getting more hatching eggs or chicks (I need some more pullets) from James early next spring unless he has something now, I will let you know what I hear. My goal is to produce some nice birds that aim for the SOP and lay nice dark eggs (everyone's goal, right?!?) and am thinking about possibly showing my birds. I use to show cats but the politics were awful. I sure hope that chicken shows aren't the same!
Talk to you soon! ~Lisa

Here is the only semi-good shot of the one pullet from this line I have, she wouldn't stand nicely like Oscar did.
