Have to take the shows where we find them.)

LOL maybe one year when I have something worth showing. I do plan on driving through NC, VA, WV, OH, and into northern Indiana next summer so hopefully I'll be able to pick up some chickens/chicks/hatching eggs from some different lines to take home and add to mine.

Donna How are your Cuckoos growing out? My Whites are outstanding! One is definitly a roo! The other 7 are not showing any roo signs but I will not get my hopes up.
Looking GOOD! I will get some pics in a month or so when they get some more size. WOW how did we both end up with mostly pullets???? BTW I got one guinea so far, the other one was still alive when I candled.

I see everyone who has Splash Marans has "solid" splash....there isn't any copper. I have Splash hens and a Splash Copper rooster. Should I try to find a different rooster or hope to breed Splash Copper chicks?

Solid Blue, Black and Splash Marans are HARD to find. Usually they have copper in the mix and are sold as Solid colors if the Copper does not express, but they are still coppers. I don't think splash is that uncommon is it? Pinkchick hatches splash, Vicki does and now I do too. Vicki has Solid colors and coppers... I think.... Mine and Kim's are coppers. Anyone that breeds blues will get splash and blacks.... they are just part of the genetics of breeding blue.

Thanks for that clarification. Maybe the breeders around me aren't as luck then. LOL. Is the Splash Copper still an accepted color?
