thats what I asked and they just kind of shrugged and said they just wouldn't pick themVicki, the main reason this can not happen is because once they are made BOB they would be eligible for Best Continental.

because it looks like something we have in the uk and blue coppers are really rare in the uk, we just get cuckoo marans pretty much over here desertmarcySussexmarans, why did you think that pullet is a cross? She looks like a perfectly nice blue copper Marans to me![]()
welcome, the amount of day light that they get can effect them laying eggs. Average is around 15 hours of daylight needed for laying. Pullets usually will lay with less light compared to hens.So I'm one of those new chickeners, in it for the eggs. I have a Marans that I got about a month ago. She's laid one egg, with calcium depoisits on a light brown shell. That was over 3 weeks ago, now, nothing. Purty as a picture, but how do I coax a few eggs out of her? She's living with an Ameraucana (also not laying eggs) and a Wyandottoe who lays an egg every other day. What can I do to get all my girls producing?
That is go about the leg feathering. So is his name "Enforcer" ?He is very dark but I can see his color coming in. He will be Mahogany/dark Copper. Hens yes he is related to the Blue Copper (same hen). and nope no extra feathers on any other toes just quite heavy. I LOVE the size I am getting. Even the hens are bulking up![]()
