Good Morning Marans Peeps! After a less-than-stellar summer for egg production, I'm finally starting to get eggs again. The 2 darkest in the basket are from 1 of my marans pullets. She lays every other day so far. I took these out of the fridge just for the photo op. We'll seeif the newbies lay today - I'm not counting on it between the cruddy weather and their relocation.

I just love your little egg basket it looks so pretty!!

wondering if anyone has any input on the color of these eggs. It was believed that our 3 oldest hens, now 19 weeks, were not purebred marans. Well we found our first 3 eggs today! yaaay!

I am just a newbie to Marans, so hopefully some experienced Marans breeders will be able to answer your question.
