i do 12 x 12 x 14 deep works for me , i built 10 boxes and made them so i can put one side by side to another and i have a slide in brooder box , point is make en all the same is a good idea , also i have inner coops and il put one on a hinge to axcess from outside ,dons idea of 16 deep is best

Ours are 14 x 14. They like them and 2 can fit in there without breaking the eggs lol. Two always have to fight over the same box ya know...

It has rained hard here!!!

P.S. It has gone down a lot since last night.... Noah and the animals pulled out at dusk!!! I think he took one of my prize marans hens by mistake...She came up missing in the storm.. Couldn't find Remmi last night... She was a prize of my flock... I am just sad....

yes... not a preditor issue... It got down to freezing last night and I couldn't find her... We were putting them in and a dumb kid scared her.. She dissappeared under a hedge and never came out.... I waited for her this morning and then this evening...LOOked and called.. She always comes when I call... I think she froze to death... There was a heatlamp in the coup and she always came to the porch to beg...I left everyone in today so that she would come to her "family" and she just never came home....It is far too cold here... I expect she is gone for good. She doesn't dissappear...I know her real well... It is sad...

She is the black one behind Annebelle the Cannabal. Gonna miss the friendly face... DRAT
