Choptank~ You're very welcome! I hope they are both pullets and that I am wrong, can't never have enough pullets giving you those pretty eggs ya know.
How old are they? They look to be about a month old to me. Your best bet is to post photos of them in another couple weeks...if one of them is a roo he will show you for sure in a couple weeks.

They are 4 weeks old. I know I hope that they both are for those lovely dark eggs. But my luck they will both end up being roosters.. haha

I'm doing good, just waiting for the storm to hit. I did move the seed starting stuff in from the greenhouse tho so I can work on starting seeds tomorrow on my day off. I figure, if I'm gonna be stuck in the house, I might as well have something fun to work on.
How are you? I'm still not hatching, I decided I'd wait til these two storms are gone.

We are in agreement about the big comb issue, I think they are vulgar.That is the only word I can use to describe it!!

I think the sprig thing is why they dub some birds. But I do appreciate a good coronation/carnation comb on the correct breed.

I think too much too!!

And THANKS!! It made the long drive worth it for sure!

Vicki~ I'm getting pretty excited as tomorrow should be hatch day for those chickers from Raven! Whoop Whoop!

I will only have one chick hatch from my eggs...from my Blue Copper gal. The rest quit....I can't say that I am to torn up about that either because of that busy body Birchen boy that got out (only because I didn't latch the door ) and he was trying to wooo all the ladies. I don't think he made any progress with them as Mr. Will was pretty quick on the draw to keep him off his gals but can't be to safe.
Saved up a few eggs from this last couple weeks...the few they have given me anyway and will be putting those along with some goose eggs in the 'bator.

Also....that freeloadin' Roberta, the splash copper that hasn't given up an egg yet at almost 10 months old....was scratching around in the nest box the other day. For sure it better be a nice egg for her to hold out so long. Never had one take so long to lay.

I should sooooooo be starting seeds! Just haven't found the time nor the gumption! I'm jealous that you get to spend the day doing it. Not jealous of the storms coming your way though...hope they go by quick fast and in a hurry! But totally and completely understand why you are waiting.

I don't believe it has to be an actual protuberance to be a considered a sprig. So I would say yes it is a sprig if it is a raised bump.
