How bad is this?

Should I just cull them now? The black boy is huge with great shank feathering but already showing spots of color in his hackle even though he is still not fully feathered in and the Blue is nicely feathered on the shanks.

Too young to cull for yet. Wait till they are about 6 months old.... if they still have it then it is an issue.

Ordered BCM hatching eggs, tracking confirmed they should have gotten here Friday, but they didn't get here until this afternoon on Monday! It was two day shipping through USPS... Does anyone have experience with this or know if I can make an insurance claim?

I have had that happen a still had a good hatch of 60% and for Mail order egg's that is good but yes you should go to the PO and see if you can file a claim as that is a bit od time for expensive egg's ...

Good luck ...

actually the shipper has to make the insurance claim since they are the ones that physically paid for the shipping ,,,,, been there done that

You would have had to have had them shipped express to guarantee shipping. You need to incubate them to see how they do to file a claim but I would DOUBT they would pay out for that. Either person can file and you can file online. I have done it both ways on express shipments.

If it makes you feel better you can file a claim, but my experience tells me it's a waste of energy. Twice I had "two day" USPS shipments take SEVEN days to get here and of course there were no chicks from those eggs. Express is the only way to complain about the delivery time. Even if the eggs sent Priority went from San Diego to NW Oregon via Providence RI. I kid you not.
