Okay, so the decision is made. I'm keeping the Wheaten boy (sorry for who wanted him) and breeding him to both my best Wheaten girl and Blue Wheaten girl.
Here's a good looking Wheaten girl of mine - Don't have any pics of my Blue Wheaten though, as she's gone missing. (PLEASE just be broody in our vast pasture of hiding places, not eaten.) But the Blue Wheaten had a good substantial body like this, and with better color.
Here's some more. All these girls are 5 months old, and still growing out.
Pardon the muck, it suddenly has been raining a lot. Getting into the fall/winter season now.
All of the Wheatens as young ones had a lot of brown/dark brown chest feathering, but not the blue Wheaten. As they matured, I've got one Wheaten with a properly colored chest, one with a little much dark of color, and one who's on the good side of color.
