I got to giggle reading your post. Your life seems like a younger version of mine. I oh so remember the days when I was chasing animals all around this place.................LOL. Now my grown kids & grand kids do the chasing..LOL

Adorable little egg carton babies. How did you ever get them to stay in there ?

Very quickly! LOL I had them in a little basket, and set each one in an egg hole, though they did not stay put! More effort than it was worth. I thought it would be so cute if they would sit still.

Absolutely adorable...................... I can't wait

I'm thinking I am going to bring my new incubator into the house too. It is just too cold even in the enclosed front porch where I usually keep them. I may just end up waiting til Spring to hatch.

Hey Kathy! I think this may be an appropriate time to use the term "your 1 shy of a full dozen!"

Our bator sits in our kitchen off to the side by our table and our current of babies are in also in the kitchen but over by our half wall... they stay in for week or two and then move to our heated garage(much to DH's dismay

) so I don't find it strange at all

The incubator is sitting in my living room by the unlit fireplace. . . . . The brooder (i.e. kiddie swimming pool) will sit in the living room too. That way we can watch the chick action like you would TV. . . .

When I have baby chickies I just move out to "The Shop" and live with my birds. Although I must admit that my "Shop" is probably nicer than a lot of human homes...

Hi, friends!

My hatch is complete - I will likely only do one Marans hatch in 2011. I have 15 Black Copper babies in my stock tank brooder in my office, along with one Blue Jersey Giant X Isa Brown (production red). Hope the thing is a pullet, but I fear it's a cockerel as it's just huge, but super cute! It's mommy lays for 28 days straight before taking a break, all year long..so, I was hoping to make a couple little girls that would do the same! Marans area ll doing great & trilling constantly....I just love those little ones!

Hope you are all doing great, and having a wonderful year so far!
